Open-Air Ethnographic Museum
The Etar Open-Air Ethnographic Museum is one of Bulgaria’s top tourist destinations, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. It is the country’s only museum of its kind, impressing visitors with its Revival-era architecture and unique atmosphere. Beyond preserving cultural heritage, Etar offers a variety of immersive experiences, transporting guests back in time to explore the lives and traditions of their ancestors.
THE CHALLENGE
The Etar Open-Air Ethnographic Complex needed a solution to optimize ticket sales both online and at the box office. A key requirement was the ability to customize tickets and offer various types, including package deals, individual, and group tickets.
Additionally, to enhance visitor flow management, the museum required integration with an access control system that could provide real-time monitoring. This would enable the Etar team to effectively track visitor numbers and optimize operations accordingly.
THE SOLUTION
To tackle these challenges, Etar implemented our customized ticketing solution. They opted for a branded ticket sales module, fully aligned with the museum’s website design and seamlessly integrated into it. In addition, we provided a back office system for access control and monitoring, along with tools for creating diverse ticket types, generating sales reports, and analyzing visitor flow.
Key Functionalities
1. Centralized Ticketing System – A unified platform managing both online and on-site ticket sales. All necessary operational data is accessible in one place without the need for third-party integrations.
2. Online & On-Site Ticket Sales – Visitors can purchase tickets directly from Etar’s website or at the ticket counter, using either cash or card payments.
3. Branded Tickets – The system allows full ticket customization, including the museum’s logo and tailored ticket types for different visitor needs.
4. Social Media Integration – Direct buttons enable seamless navigation from Etar’s social media profiles to the ticketing module, improving accessibility and engagement.
5. Access Control System – The integration ensures secure and efficient entry, reducing wait times and preventing crowd congestion. Real-time visitor tracking allows the museum to monitor peak times throughout the day, month, and year, helping to optimize pricing strategies and additional visitor experiences.
6. News & Events Updates – The platform enables the museum to publish updates and upcoming events, keeping visitors informed and engaged.
7. QR Payments – The introduction of QR payment options ensures fast and convenient transactions, catering to visitors who prefer cashless payments.
This solution has significantly enhanced Etar’s operational efficiency, improved visitor experience, and provided valuable insights for better resource and capacity management.
